First however, the high levels of insulin cause blood sugar levels to drop drastically, a condition known as hypoglycemia. This leads to tiredness, low energy levels, an inability to concentrate, and digestive discomfort and bloating.

Treatment Options

As such treatment is absolutely necessary. Consult your doctor first and gain proper assessment and counseling. They may recommend taking the Two Week Test diet.

This form of assessment involves recording all symptoms experienced under normal circumstances. Then the individual removes all starches and sugars from their diet, including fruits, breads, rice, potatoes, milk, corn and beans, ice cream, alcohol, yogurt, sodas, and energy bars.

This continues for a two week period while the individual follows a different diet involving unprocessed cheeses, uncured meats, whole eggs, vegetables, nuts, fish, and a large amount of water. This then determines the extent to which the person suffers from CI.
