The Juice Diet Plan

Maybe not quite what you think. The Juice Diet is all about creating smoothies or juices out of the foods you need to eat. There's also no cooked food, nor animal products. Interested?

The juice diet has gained popularity in recent years as people become more and more concerned about the build up of toxins in the body from a variety of sources of environmental pollution.

From the food we eat to the air that we breathe, we are bombarded with chemicals and pollutants 24/7 and proponents of the Juice Diet believe this is a great way to detox, kick start a weight loss diet and generally feel better in yourself!

Why Choose the Juice Diet Plan?

The juice diet is used by people for a number of reasons, including:

While much of the information on the juice diet is anecdotal, people who have used it report huge positive changes in their health and general well-being.

What's Involved?

The elements that are removed from the eating plan are cooked food and animal products. This includes all animal products (red meat, poultry, fish and eggs) plus packaged goods such as white flour and refined sugar.

That leaves is a huge variety of fresh, raw fruit and vegetables, plus copious amounts of water.

Proponents suggest that in order to do it right you need a juicer, not simply a mixer or a blender. A proper juicer will produce vegetable juice from the spout with the fibre removed.

How Long Does it Take?

There is no set length of time to maintain this diet plan. The 'rule of thumb' is that you should stay on the plan until you have been free of detoxification symptoms for two days - a somewhat subjective measure!

Typically this is somewhere between three days and three weeks.

Any Side Effects or Downsides?

Detoxification symptoms can be severe, including nausea, bad breath, and skin eruptions, but when the process is finished you will feel re-energised.

If this is of interest to you, then it's best to research via the web, or buy a good book, as you'll want a good variety of recipes before embarking on this programme.

Our Opinion

You will definitely lose weight. You will definitely detoxify. You will definitely have to be very good at ensuring you don't pick at cooked food or lapse and add milk or whet products into the diet - however appealing that may be.

Secondly, watch the bad breath and skin breakouts.
