Calories in Italian Food

We all love Italian food, whether its pasta, pizza or tiramisu. But many of these dishes cna be very healthy, so how can we combine Italian food and a balanced diet?

Italian food is generally nutritious and healthy, though the healthier options tend not to be what takeaways are made up of.

What To Avoid

If you want to lose those pounds, you should steer clear of dishes with heavy cream sauces or large amounts of cheese. This obviously means that pizza is not a great option for dieters. If you cant resist, then try ordering extra vegetables rather than more cheese. Garlic bread is also an indulgence best avoided.

What To Order

Instead go for tomato based sauces and consider having the starter sized pasta. Pasta eaten with a health conscious sauce in a reasonable portion is in itself perfectly healthy, especially when compared to other takeaways. For example, pasta with arrabiata sauce contains 12g of fat compared to 47g in chicken tikka masala.
